This year, the seven-race series will occur every Wednesday from May 7 through June 25. The course traverses 10.1 miles between the Colorado cities of Lyons and Boulder.
This year, registered cyclists will get the chance to win a new, custom-built Primus Mootry time trial bike frame. Primus Mootry Cycle Fabrication will present a new 7005 aluminum time trial frame to be awarded to one lucky winner, with the drawing open to all registrants. The winner of the drawing will receive his/her frame in time to use it during the final time trial of the series.
The course, set along the foothills of Highway 36, is known for unpredictable conditions that can vary widely week to week, from tough side-winds to favorable tailwinds. Still, the race attracts a wide range of skills and ages, from juniors aged 10 to 12 years to men and women aged 65 and older. Racers will be competing for more than just bragging rights; the fastest single time for both men and women will win $150.
Riders start in 30-second intervals from at 5:00 p.m. through 7 p.m. and may choose their start time during online registration.
Course records for both men and women were set during one of last year’s races, held on June 27, 2007. For men, Phil Zajicek finished in 21:1, and for women, Anne Samplonious finished in 24:10.
